Answer: Introduction: A successful leader is an individual who has the talent of realizing Management and utilizing the full potential of his employees and himself towards the fulfillment of the organizational goals. As per the definition of Joseph Roost, Leadership is an influence relationship among leaders and followers who intend real changes and outcomes that reflect their shared purpose (Puccio, Mance Murdock, 2010). Therefore, it can be said that a good leader should inherit or acquire traits or skills that help him in motivating his team members and taking out the best performance from them so that the team and the organizational goals are achieved. Stephen Tindal, the founder of the massively successful departmental store The Warehouse is one of the most reputed and successful leader of New Zealand. Stephen Tindal is considered as a transformers leader due to his diligence of transforming people into right individuals who have the right attitude to work and achieve goals. He has the ability to train people as per the requirements of the task so that they can perform efficiently (Bass, 2013). He is aware of the fact that good performance is linked with reward and hence, motivates the employees to perform their best so that they can get their due of rewards accordingly. Being a transformational leader, he has the ability to select the right individuals who would be able to execute the tasks better. This trait of Stephen Tindal has helped him to become one of the successful leaders of his country because he trained his employees to deal with the customers in a way that his company is able to retain the customers and increase the o rganizational profits. As per the Trait Theory of Leadership, it can be deduced that Stephen Tindal has the empathy, assertiveness and likeability in him that his employees follow him and work as per his guidance (Colbert et al.2012). The Traits Theory indicates the traits or the skills that a leader innately has in him or acquires over a period of time. It includes the traits and the skills that a leader should have in him. Stephen Tindal did not just care about the performance of his company and the financial benefit received, but is also concerned about remitting and fulfilling his corporate responsibility towards the society. He as a leader is concerned about his organization and his employees and also about the society at large (Mumford et al. 2015). He has taken many steps to improve the society by initiating community based services and helping the government and other nongovernmental organizations in creating employment, spreading education and promoting the idea of sustainable development and a cleaner environment. Another business leader who has changed the business arena of the industry is Rob Fyfe, the Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand. After Fyfe was appointed as the CEO of Air New Zealand, the airline company saw a considerable growth in their business performance. Fyfe made his company the pioneering company in the airline industry which registered the maximum amount of profits compared to its competitors. Fyfe always cared about the profits which the company yields and the ascertainment of steady growth. He is very efficient with managing te stakeholders interest as he ensures that the stakeholders of Air New Zealand get the maximum returns on his investment (Smith et al. 2012). Fyfes leadership style can be described by using the Behavioral Theories of Leadership because his leadership changed with the situation (Mumford et al. 2010). The most part of his leadership styles is dominated by the democratic style of leadership as he encourages the views and thoughts of his employee s. When it comes to democratic leadership style, Tindals leadership style can also be classifies under this category because he also encourages the involvement of his employees in the decision making process of the company and motivates them to contribute their thoughts and ideas for the growth and betterment of the organization. A leader should have distinct qualities in him which makes him different from his employees Management. A successful leader is expected to have the quality of motivating his employees or his team members to or more efficiently so that they can achieve organizational and personal goals. In the discussion of the successful leaders of New Zealand, the reference of Graeme Hart has to be named who is currently ranking the charts of the top ten successful leaders of New Zealand. Graeme Hart is a thorough professional who maintains a distance from the media and stays away from the limelight (Nelson, Zaccaro Herman, 2010). He has been quoted a many times saying that the wealth earned by him is a by-product of his work and diligence. He being a professional himself, encourages professionalism in his employees and also expects ethical and behavior and practices from them. Hart is a follower of ethics and morals in his business activities, encourages his employees and subordinates to use the s ame code of ethics while they are performing their jobs. As a leader, he encourages the professionalism, practice of a certain code of conduct and moral behavior which has helped him to soar heights in his professional career. He also has health and safety policies for his employees in his business organizations that protect the interests of his staff from being exploited. His organization actively takes part in the fulfilling the corporate social responsibility so that they can help the society to improve and make it sustainable. From the above discussion, it can be understood that a good leader should possess the traits and the skills to motivate his team members and lead them in the path of success. The leadership theories help in defining the leadership style of the leader or the manager but each leader has a distinct quality that makes hi different from the others (De Meuse, Dai Wu, 2011). A person is either or with the traits of empathy, good interpersonal skills, positive attitude or motivational skills or he acquires these skills with a passage of time and experience. Every leader should have the desire in them to help the employees and the society to become successful and also help the stakeholders of the company to maximize their return.
